i saw Crash this wknd and wasn’t thrilled. i’m glad they made this movie…but, an oscar???

maybe my expectations were too great. maybe it needs to be seen in a theater. maybe maybe maybe…i just don’t know.

the acting was phenomenal…and, some of the scenes were simply amazing. but, the movie as a whole was just too much. as a friend of mine put it - a bad mashup of grand canyon and pulp fiction.

yeah, yeah, i had to throw in a web 2.0 reference … and no, he didn’t say mashup :)

seriously, there were way too many characters/stories with very little resolution. and, it was insanely contrived.

ahh, what could have been…

“good night and good luck” was far far better and…in many ways more important…

saw Darwin’s Nightmare last night. this is a fantastic film about lake victoria and the non-native nile perch fish. somehow it’s able to intelligently weave in many different issues - AIDS, globalization, the environment, etc….here is a link to the official site
