i called this (well…i hoped this would happen) a while ago - it’s exactly what yahoo needs…jerry can drive product vision and set the tone for the future, while sue can own operations and finance. this is great for them. while i’m now at google, i’m happy for yahoo. of course, this makes them an even more dangerous competitor…which, as matt said, is good for users…

congrats to jerry, sue, and yahoo…

wow, it seems like a lifetime ago that we announced the google acquisition. since then, i:

- went thru orientation (in the ny office - nice digs btw)
- attended my first tech talk
- responded to a mountain of email
- had a ton of meetings with partners
- spoke at nextmedia in banff (every conference should be held there!)
- spoke at digital hollywood in santa monica
- met some fantastic entrepreneurs & participated on a panel re transparency at techstars
- rode my first G bike (that’s rick on the bike) and
- fell in love with the G shuttle (nearly door to door service…not bad!)…

we can finally talk about this…yes, the rumors are true…we’ve been acquired by google. i’m terribly excited as we have the opportunity to leverage their resources and relationships…this is great for our publishers (both big and small) and the future of rss / distributed media…

we’ll have more information soon re what this means for everyone…so stay tuned…
