if you can’t build a fuel efficient car, just bribe your customers

this is getting ridiculous. GM is offering to cap the price of gas for new SUV customers (hummers, etc.) at $1.99 a gallon in CA and FL.

hmmm…why doesn’t GM focus on making cars/trucks that people want…or at least direct marketing $$ toward e85??

edible legos - what will they think of next?

legos crossed with waffles - despite the lousy review from taquitos.net, it seems like a winner…at least for 4 year olds. unfortunately, most of us have enough trouble getting our kids to eat and not play with their food… :)

SUV rentals cheaper than compacts - is this an “onion” headline? :)

pretty funny story in the WSJ (via Yahoo!)…sub-compacts are the new “must have”

ahh, what could have been. if we had only implemented a gas tax years ago…

google reader + homepage…this is pretty cool…

Wednesday, May 10th, 2006

so, while i’m a my yahoo user, i have to say that google’s new reader module is fantastic. i can now use the homepage as a dashboard to consume headline-only content (bbc, cnn, yahoo news, etc.), weather, stocks, etc. and then supplement it with full-text blog content (using the new module). it’s a great hybrid product…not for the masses, but still very nice…

of course, i’m still loyal to my yahoo…

video in google reader…that’s nice…

google recently added video support (flash) for greader. this is fantastic as RSS is rapidly becoming a new medium, not just a way to drive traffic. (note: it doesn’t help folks deal with their youtube addictions)

here at feedburner, we’re also focused on helping create a better RSS consumption experience in the hope that publishers will syndicate more full-content feeds. to that end, we’re inserting ads (on behalf of participating publishers) and enabling publishers to inject a variety (infinite actually as it’s an open platform) of tools that help users interact with content (email it, save it, learn more about the topic or author, etc.). the two services are called FAN (”feedburner ad network” of course) and feedflare (yes, note the intentionally misspelled “office space” reference). what’s great is that both of these are now available to everyone via our self-service offerings…
